Lucina Digest
The discussion about quality in practical obstetrics has led to the relaunch of LUCINA as a specialized magazine. Originally published from 1802 to 1811 under the title Lucina. A magazine for the perfection of the art of childbirth, the journal was founded by the German gynecologist and university teacher Adam Elias von Siebold. His work significantly shaped obstetric training by combining theory with practice at the birthing bed.
Today, LUCINA consciously follows this tradition. The magazine is dedicated to preserving proven obstetric knowledge, presenting it in a structured and practice oriented way, and linking it with current research. It addresses midwives, obstetricians, gynecologists and all professionals committed to women’s, children’s and family health.
With clear explanations, practical examples and meaningful illustrations, LUCINA aims to support professional competence, critical reflection and reliable decision making in obstetric and gynecological care.
I wish you an inspiring and informative read.
Sincerely
Barbara Kosfeld
